Technology

The benefits and advantages of using ECODAS technology

  • Fully automated collection process.
  • Equipped with locking security system
  • Shredding and sterilization in a closed and compact system
  • There is no intermediate waste treatment
  • Pre- Shredding allows effective sterilization
  • Reduction of waste volume up to 80%.
  • Inside temperature monitoring of waste
  • No dangerous effects (smoke, chemical release, radiation)
  • Green and environmentally friendly technology

Stages

Automatic loading of waste is done through the upper opening of the device.

After filling the device is hermetically insulated, shredder, cut the material into small pieces in order to avoid irregular movement of waste in the device and shredding of all types of waste to be as effective as possible

The pressurized and saturated steam reaches a temperature of 138 ° C (280 F) and an internal pressure of 3.8 bar (51 psi).

Sterilization is achieved by holding, 138 ° C (280 F) and 3.5 bar (51 psi) in the residue core for 10 minutes. The combination of these different factors achieves an inactive microbe of 8  log 10.

The temperature is lowered to 80 ° C by sending cold water to the corresponding tank of the treatment vessel to allow the device to gradually adapt to the ambient pressure.

The steam condenses with water and is discharged with cooling water into the sanitary filtration system.

A digital signal informs the operator that all processing stages have been successfully completed. The opening of the lid allows the unloading of the sterilized material in suitable boxes, which will serve for their further placement, in the specified place.

WHY WE SHOULD BE CONCERNED ABOUT HOSPITAL WASTE?

Hospital waste can cause infections if it comes in contact with the skin, eyes, mouth, air, or if they contact the human body in different ways. This waste should be treated only in places allowed by the Ministry of Environment, equipped with the relevant permits because if not stored until incinerated (destroyed), they cause not only danger to health but also environmental pollution.

WHAT IS HOSPITAL WASTE?

A needle, a syringe, surgical instruments, surgical remnants, all medical and surgical equipment in contact with the patient’s body, from where the infection can be transmitted, dishes of laboratory cultures, or objects of this nature placed in contact with fluids or human tissues, syringes and laboratory items of various analyzes.

HOW TO STORE HOSPITAL WASTE?

To be stored in the appropriate containers, according to the WHO regulation for storage. Containers should be placed in appropriate enclosed and safe premises in accordance with applicable law. Ensure disinfection of the environment in case of accidental contamination. Treat all waste that has been in contact with hospital waste, as hazardous waste.
